Ben Berkon was born to Russian parents in 1937, and lived in a gulag until the age of fourteen. Upon viewing the entire "Police Academy" film series, Ben knew that peeling potatoes was no longer his life dream, but instead, it was to become a comedy writer. Ben saved up enough money to take a ferry ride to New York in the U.S. of A, and started his career in entertainment - cleaning the toilets for such esteemed comedy figures as Chevy Chase, Joe Piscopo, and the father from "Family Matters."

At first, times were hard, but then Ben caught a break. He got the brilliant idea to start his own comedy website - just like everyone else has done. Thus, www.SomethingYouShouldRead.com was born. Ben wanted to make it as sadistic, satirical, and absurdist as possible so that everyone would hate him enough to read it everyday.

Ben was confident that his humor website would help him "make it," but mostly, he was just looking for a laugh - at the cost of every race, religion, and creed (yes, the shitty post-Grunge band).
